Hardware Setup & Troubleshooting
The Eklonde Prime Retail OS (EPROS) is a web-based platform, meaning it works with almost any standard POS hardware. This guide covers setting up barcode scanners, thermal receipt printers, and resolving day-to-day connectivity issues.
Barcode Scanner Configuration
EPROS supports standard USB, wireless 2.4GHz dongle, and Bluetooth barcode scanners. Your scanner simply acts as an incredibly fast keyboard.
1. Connecting the Scanner
- USB / 2.4GHz Dongle: Plug the cable or USB receiver directly into your POS computer. The operating system will automatically recognize it.
- Bluetooth: Turn on Bluetooth on your tablet or terminal, put the scanner in pairing mode, and connect it through your device's Bluetooth settings.
2. Auto-Enter (Carriage Return) Configuration
To ensure items drop directly into the cart without needing to manually click "Enter" after every scan:
- Locate the configuration barcode sheet provided in your scanner's original box.
- Scan the barcode labeled Add Enter Suffix, Carriage Return, or Auto-Enter (CR/LF).
Pro Tip: At the POS terminal, press the F2 key on your keyboard to instantly jump your cursor into the barcode search bar.
Thermal Receipt Printer Setup
EPROS generates receipts and Z-Reports optimized for standard 80mm and 58mm thermal printers.
1. Connection & Drivers
- Connect the thermal printer via USB or local network.
- Install the manufacturer's receipt printer driver on your computer.
- Set the printer paper size to 80mm or 58mm in your computer's printer properties.
2. Browser Print Settings (Crucial)
Because EPROS runs in your browser, you must configure Chrome (or Edge) so it doesn't print website URLs at the bottom of your receipts:
- Open a test receipt in EPROS and press
Ctrl + P(or click Print). - Click on More settings in the print window.
- Set Margins to None or Minimum.
- UNCHECK the box for Headers and footers (this hides the date, web address, and page numbers).
- (Optional) For advanced setups, you can enable Chrome's "Silent Printing" (Kiosk Mode) shortcut flag so receipts cut automatically without the print dialog popping up.
Common Troubleshooting
Scanner Inputs Numbers but Does Not Add Products
- Cause: The input cursor is not focused inside the barcode field, or the product is not in the system.
- Fix: Press F2 on your keyboard to lock the cursor into the search box before scanning. If it still fails, check the Inventory > Catalog to ensure the barcode matches the SKU exactly.
Dumsor Mode (Offline) Queued Sales Aren't Syncing
- Cause: The internet is down, or the manual Dumsor toggle is turned on.
- Fix: Look at the Wi-Fi icon in the top header. If the system is offline, you will see a badge showing the exact number of "queued" receipts.
- Do Not Close the Window: Keep the browser tab open. The sales are safely stored inside your browser. Once your internet connection is restored, the Wi-Fi icon will turn green and a spinning indicator will automatically push the pending receipts to the cloud.
POS Terminal Interface Appears Frozen
- Fix: Press
Ctrl + Shift + R(orCmd + Shift + Ron Mac) to perform a hard refresh. This will force the browser to reload the latest version of the shop interface.
